On Nov. 16 from 8am-12pm, Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB) will host America Recycles Day, its annual recycling education, community e-waste and document shredding event for local citizens. This event is a result of a partnership with Keep America Beautiful, Mecklenburg County, Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful, City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services, Goodwill, Waste Management and Walmart.
 
During America Recycles Day, KCB will accept the following items:
  • Documents for shredding
  • E-Waste recycling
  • Compact fluorescent light bulbs recycling
  • Battery recycling
  • Donation of used cell phones
  • Donations of household items
In addition to having fun activities, KCB will provide recycling and composting education items and have free giveaways.
 
The event will be held at the Walmart located at 3850 East Independence Boulevard. Email kcb@charlottenc.gov for more information about volunteering.
