Neighborhood & Business Services Conducting Free Board Retreats for Neighborhood and Business Associations this July
(Charlotte, N.C.) The Community Engagement Division of Neighborhood and Business Services is hosting the second annual Neighborhood Board Retreat on July 20, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Foundation For The Carolinas, 220 N. Tryon Street. Neighborhood and Business Associations are invited to apply for participation.

“Those who participated in last year’s Board Retreat strongly recommended that we repeat this event and we are excited to do so,” said Aisha Alexander, Neighborhood & Business Services’ Community Engagement Operations Manager. “The participant surveys showed that attendees found the event helpful for their group to create a vision and implement projects within their community.”
The Board Retreat was created to help neighborhood and business associations engage in meaningful conversations about improving quality of life in their communities. Attendees will participate in facilitated vision planning discussions that will allow them to set goals and priorities for the upcoming year, as well as develop strategic plans for improving their neighborhoods.
Participating associations within the Neighborhood Matching Grant geography will receive a $3,000 match credit to complete a project in their community.
Eligible organizations must have a minimum of five and maximum of ten board members who will attend the retreat. First time Board Retreat participants will receive priority participation. To apply, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NBSRetreat. The application deadline is Wednesday, June 19, 2013.
