Keep Charlotte Beautiful Celebrates America Recycles Day

(Charlotte, N.C.) – On Nov. 16, Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB) will host America Recycles Day, the annual recycling education, community e-waste and document shredding event for local citizens. This event is a result of partnerships with Keep America Beautiful, Mecklenburg County, Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful, City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services, Goodwill, Waste Management and Walmart.

During America Recycles Day, KCB will accept the following items: documents for shredding, e-waste, compact fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, used cell phones and household items.

In addition to having fun activities, KCB will provide recycling and composting educational items and have free giveaways. The event will be held at Walmart located at 3850 East Independence Boulevard.

KCB’s annual recycling event is part of Keep America Beautiful’ s America Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized community-driven awareness event dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the U.S. Since its inception in 1997, communities across the country have participated in America Recycles Day during the month of November to educate, promote environmental citizenship and encourage action.
