The
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Department maintains a list of registered
neighborhood leaders and residents throughout the City of Charlotte and
Mecklenburg County. The primary function of this list is to catalog contact
information for neighborhood organization office holders and represents the
City’s official list of neighborhood leaders.
This contact
list is a valuable communications tool used by City and County agencies to
engage the citizenry on public initiatives, meetings, and projects that may
impact their neighborhoods.
The Planning
Department uses this list to notify neighborhood leaders and residents of
rezoning petitions and planning processes.
Finally, the
general public as well as the development community employs this list to build
organizational coalitions and to obtain community input on private sector
projects.
