The Planning Department will hold a public meeting to begin developing an area plan for the Park Woodlawn community on November 17th. An area plan is a policy document that provides the
framework for future growth and development and serves as guidance for elected officials when making land use and zoning decisions. A map of the proposed plan area is included on the back of this letter.
The area plan will focus primarily on land use, transportation, design and environmental issues and will update adopted plans for this area: the Central District Plan (adopted 1993),
South District Plan (adopted 1993) and the Park Road Corridor Area Plan (adopted 1992). Business and property owners, area residents and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend this meeting to
provide input in developing a vision to help shape future development of the area. As a property owner, please
be aware that the area plan could recommend a change in the future use of property within the study
area. It is therefore important that you participate in the planning process.
