Bicycling during the DNC
The League of American Bicyclists recognize Charlotte as a 2008-2012 Bicycle-Friendly Community. It's something we are awfully proud of, and we strive to provide residents and visitors alternative ways to commute, live healthier and reduce their carbon footprint. On August 1, 2012, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina launched the Charlotte B Cycle You are leaving the site bike share program. Charlotte B Cycle is part of GO NC!, a program that encourages North Carolinians to get outside, get healthy and get active. The program provides access to 200 shared bicycles at 20 self-service bike stations located throughout uptown.

The program will be in operation during the DNC, providing residents and visitors alternative ways to get around uptown for a nominal charge.
