Budget Update

Management and Budget Director Hyong Yi presented Budget Update #8 - a primer on how we got where we are. You can view his presentation via streaming video from our home page or look at his PowerPoint presentation.

Permit Fees

The Board agreed to increase certain fees charged by the County's Code Enforcement Division. The increase in fees is necessary to maintain staff to perform inspections. Code Enforcement has reduced staff due to the lack of building but must keep enough workers to perform the inspection service. The increases are supported by the Building Development Commission.

*A second vote will be required on April 20 because three members were absent from this meeting.

Business Grant

The Board approved a Business Investment Grant that will have the County offer almost $11M in tax and other credits to Siemens Energy. Siemens is relocating its gas turbine manufacturing and engineering operations to Charlotte. Net benefit to the County over ten years is $1.4M.
