Commercial Code Enforcement is accomplished through the combined efforts of the Plan Review and Field Inspection staff. Each plays an important role in assuring that structures are built in compliance with the State and local laws. It is very important that the enforcement is administered in a fair, thorough, and consistent manner by all. The purpose of the Consistency Policy is to improve the Department's ability to accomplish the above and "SPEAK WITH ONE VOICE."

Please note; consistency meetings will not be held during the months of August and September because of the Department's commitment to staff the DNC.  In the future, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Consistency meetings for contractor attendees will be held in the months of March, June, September and November on the days and at the times designated below.  Building Consistency meetings remain unchanged.

Departmental Consistency Policy

TRADES CONSISTENCY MEETING SCHEDULE
Building:       The 1st Wednesday of every month from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.
Electrical:      The 2nd Wednesday of designated months from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.
Mechanical:  The last Tuesday of designated months from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.
Plumbing:     The last Wednesday of designated month from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.


All customers are encouraged to participate in the Trade Consistency meetings. Please check above for the time and day. Meetings are held at 700 N. Tryon Street.  Call the respective Code Administrator or Kathleen Batey (704-336-3545) to confirm location. Submit a Topic for Consistency Team Review
