The Department of Geography & Earth Sciences of UNC at Charlotte is an active research partner for Project Safe Neighborhoods, involved in collecting, mapping, and analyzing gun crime data to use for identifying target gun crime communities and program needs. Members of the Department monitor changes in gun crime over time, and evaluate the effectiveness of gun crime prevention/intervention strategies.
