Strategic Business Plan Preview

Over the next week, members of the Board will be contacted by staff within the Office of Strategic Organizational Improvement (SOI) to schedule a preview of the FY 08-10 Strategic Business Plan draft. The preview is an opportunity for Board members to pose individual questions and comments prior to being asked in May to approve the Plan. The targeted preview date is Tuesday, April 17. Staff will confirm the specific date and time individually with Board members.

The Strategic Business Plan will comprise various strategic decisions already made by the Board, particularly those determined at the Board’s strategic planning conference. The key components of the Strategic Business Plan are:
  • The Board’s reaffirmation of the 2015 Vision
  • Revisions to the Board’s Community & Corporate Scorecard strategies and measures
  • The Board’s three-year strategic emphasis.
Although it is a three-year strategic plan, we anticipate revisiting key elements of the Plan each year to enable the Board to either reconfirm or make revisions as appropriate.

New Finance Director

Please join me in welcoming the County’s new finance director, Dena Diorio, who began work and was sworn in by Chairman Roberts on Monday, April 2. You may recall that Dena comes to the County from Danbury, CT, where she served as director of finance and personnel. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and a Masters in Public Administration from Columbia University.

I also would like to recognize Sarah Heasley for her service as interim finance director. Sarah’s expertise and experience has been and will continue to be a valuable asset to the County and the community.
