As part of our ongoing effort to engage citizens in the process of local government, Mecklenburg County conducts an annual Community Survey. The telephone survey is administered in both English and Spanish to nearly 1000 residents age 18 and older. The survey gathers citizen input regarding the following areas:
- Diversity perceptions about representation, array of cultural activities and minority business representation
with public communication, quality of funded services, perceptions of the County as a place to live, work and recreate, and value received for tax dollars paid.
Each year the survey results are used to update the County’s Community and Corporate scorecard, which is how we measure results. The survey helps gauge the County’s progress toward becoming a community of pride and choice for people to live, work and recreate.
For detailed information on the results of the survey, and an explanation of the three broad focus areas, view the Community Survey dashboard. You can also watch videos to learn more about the survey.
