GIS DAY 2011 Expo Special Performance (Morning Session)

Love music? Hate cancer? Then come early for the inaugural GIS Day debut of Charlotte’s own drumStrong team. Cancer affects half of all men and a third of all women in the US alone- this is a global issue. DrumsForCures produces DRUMSTRONG™, the multicultural, musical, charity events showcasing available resources that support people with cancer and those who love them. Drums are the perfect communicator as rhythm welcomes and embraces all who participate. Music truly engages all ages, wages and stages of health. Drumstrong gathers folks to rhythm (drum for crazy long periods of time), focusing on individual and community health drumming in honor of, in memory of and working for cancer solutions.

GIS in the Schools Project Showcase (Morning Session)
GIS in schools
Many schools and education groups in our community are adopting GIS Technology into their curriculum. GIS is helping our students to become better thinkers and more creative in solving both community and environmental problems. It is a technology tool that they can learn from and grow their knowledge academically for future professions.

The Morning Session of the GIS Day Expo will highlight local education groups and their GIS Projects that they have worked on.
