Having ineligible dependents enrolled in the County's benefit plans increases the cost of our plans for you and the County.
Beginning Aug. 1 through Oct. 3, 2016, retirees covering dependents will be asked to provide verification documentation to ensure that people being covered under County health plans are eligible to be covered. You will receive detailed information about the dependent verification process and the required certified documentation (marriage licenses, birth certificates, adoption certification, etc.) in the mail soon. This service is being conducted by our contractor and longtime, trusted healthcare partner, AON Hewitt Health and Benefit Consulting.
This audit ONLY applies to retirees who are covering dependents under the County’s Health Benefit Plans.
Human Resources is letting you know about this request now to give you a head-start on gathering the information so you can begin to find the documents you'll need to provide to verify the dependents you cover under the medical, dental and vision benefit plans.
