Assistant Public Health Director: Dr. Cardra E. Burns, DBA, MPA, CLCThe Assistant Health Director leads strategic planning and policy development and ensures services and operations lead to ultimately improve community health outcomes. Dr. Burns provides direct oversight of the School Health Program, Community Health Services; and Environmental Health Services.
Assistant Public Health Director: Connie Mele, MSN, RN, FIAAN, PMHCNS-BC, CARN-APThe Assistant Health Director leads strategic planning and policy development and ensures services and operations lead to ultimately improve community health outcomes. Mrs. Mele provides direct oversight of the Clinical Services, Children's Developmental Services, Trauma and Justice Partnerships and Policy and prevention Programs.
Medical Director: Stephen R. Keener, MD, MPHThe Medical Director provides medical consultation and support for the Mecklenburg County Health Department, including hands-on medical care at Department clinics, and representation of the Department on state, local and federal agencies.
Director of Nursing: Jacqueline Glenn, MSN, RNThe Director of Nursing provides nursing consultation for the Mecklenburg County Health Department, including serving as liaison with State Board of Nursing, oversight of nursing scope of practice, and supervision of the Occupational Health & Safety Program.
