All Deaths

Mortality describes all resident deaths and cause-specific deaths at the county level. State and National data are available for comparison where applicable. The mortality data is organized by section and starts with the most current year of data available for each section.

Please review the technical notes below before looking at the data. These notes explain some of the limitations of the data and address issues of interpretation and rates based on small numbers. Beginning in 1999, causes of death were coded using the tenth revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10).

Child Deaths all resident child deaths ages 1 to 17 years of age and cause-specific deaths at the county level. The primary focus is preventable deaths due to injury. State and National data are available for comparison where applicable. The data is organized by section and starts with the most current year of data available for each section.
