Great News!

Congratulations Fall 2012 Winning Schools
For the first time ever, the Field to Fork Program is offering a fall school garden program. We are happy to announce that 15 schools will be involved in the program this fall: Hawk Ridge, Huntingtowne Farms, Mt. Island, Reedy Creek, Waddell, Barringer, Polo Ridge, Winterfield, Elizabeth Traditional, Shamrock Gardens, Highland Mill, JH Gunn, Selwyn, Allenbrook, and Endhaven.

The Field to Fork Program: 2011 Sustainable Business Awards Winner
Mecklenburg County Health Department was awarded the honor for “General Excellence in Sustainable Programs – Innovative Idea”. Thank you to the Charlotte Business Journal for awarding us this honor.

About the Program

The Field to Fork Program is a partnership with MCFVC, CMS, Fuel Pizza, Earth Farm Organics, and LandSculptors where elementary students to learn about gardening, nutrition, and healthy cooking. The Field to Fork Program includes: 

  • gardening experiences
  • class education
  • Fuel Pizza Cafe field trip where participating students travel to a local Fuel Pizza Cafe to learn how to transform the produce they have grown into homemade vegetable pizza.
