
How will I ever drink that much water every day? The basic 8-(8 ounce) water rule may sound unrealistic but it really is quite easy and this goal can be met with these tips:
- Start early: have a glass of water first thing in the morning when you wake up.
- Add lemon juice and natural sweetener to a cup of hot water.
- Drink a glass of water with your meals.
- Carry a water bottle with you everywhere.
- Drink through a straw: this will make drinking water more fun and enjoyable!
- Create cues: add water into your daily routines, make it a habit to always drink a glass of water after going to the restroom or in between your favorite T.V. shows.
- Add citrus ice cubes to your water: squeeze your favorite citrus fruit (lemon, lime, orange) into ice cube trays before freezing to give your water a refreshing twist.
- Keep water close: make sure you have a cup or water bottle on your desk, in your car, at your computer, next to the couch, etc so it’s always easy to take a sip.
- Eat water-rich foods: many fruits and vegetables like lettuce, tomatoes, watermelon, peaches, oranges, and grapes are full of water.
- Keep track of how much water you drink throughout the day.
