The Applications & Database Division provides a broad range of application services, including software development, software testing and quality assurance, web development, vendor package procurement and implementation, application support and business intelligence/report writing. The division’s Application Development service encompasses architecture, design, development, coding, testing, maintenance, deployment, support of applications where IT is the vendor. The division’s Database Administration service is responsible for managing databases hosted by the IT (the County).
The IT Business Analysts provide a broad range of services including business requirements elicitation, reporting and data analysis, software testing and quality assurance, application support, application training development, process improvement, and small projects. The IT Business Analyst works closely with the customer to establish requirements and works collaboratively with Customer Experience Coordinators, Business Process Consultants, Project Managers, Software Developers, Database Administrators, and Application Support to solve business needs.
The Customer Experience Management (CXM) team serves as a primary point of contact for internal support services customers, working to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded in obtaining products and services from all IT divisions and other key internal service partners, including: Asset & Facility Management (AFM), Business Improvement Services (BIS), and Procurement (PRO). CXM Consultants partner with internal support service teams, serving as a liaison to anticipate/plan customer's business needs, facilitate development of business strategies, manage/set customer expectations, and coordinate cross-organizational needs.
The Customer Service Center provides Help Desk Services and Desktop Services for Mecklenburg County. The Service Desk team is comprised of technicians who serve as the front line for IT incidents and service requests. The Desktop Services team manages the efforts of installing and maintaining all hardware and software for client devices, ensuring that the organization is fully equipped and operational.
The Technical Services Division provides infrastructure, research and development services to county agencies. The service area include: Emerging Technology Cohort, Network Operations, Server Operations, SMS, Telecom, and Information Security. Technical Services also maintains responsibility for the network infrastructure, security, servers, telephony, software deployment, and research and development, the area touches all aspects of the customer’s line of business.
