Change in payment process:

Starting March 29, 2010, LUESA-North and LUESA-South will not be able to accept check and cash payments at all times. This change is due to reduced workload, budget cuts, and staff reassignments.

In general, LUESA-South will accept cash and check payments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Credit card payments can be made during any regular office hours.

Services provided by LUESA South:

• Residential Building Permits - residential permitting includes single family and duplex buildings for all new construction, additions, renovations, and accessory structures.
• Housing Code Compliance - enforce the minimum housing code in Matthews, Mint Hill and Pineville. Enforce the Mecklenburg County abandoned and junk vehicle ordinance.
• Zoning permits and inspections - Administer and enforce the zoning regulations adopted by Matthews, Mint Hill and PIneville.
• Land Development Plan Review - review site development plans for compliance with ordinances, standards and specifications.
• Land Development Inspection - inspect roadway and drainage construction
• Groundwater/Wastewater - well and septic tank permits and inspections
• Water Quality - conduct erosion control inspections and enforcement, investigate surface water quality problems, and conduct storm water management inspections
• Property Tax Assessment - pick up or drop off forms for listing personal property and change of address forms. Real property services by appointment. No tax payments are accepted at LUESA South.
