Inmate Visitation

Inmates in Mecklenburg County Jails are allowed one thirty-minute visit per week. Two adults or one adult and two children may visit at any one time. Adults must be 16 years of age or older and must provide proper identification such as: valid driver's license, passport, DMV Special ID or Military ID.

Visitation times vary according to the day and the housing unit the inmate is in.  Please view the complete visitation schedule  and the visitation guidelines prior to making your visit.

8:00 pm – 11:00 pm*

Attorney Visitation

Seven days/week
8:00 am – 11:30 am
1:00 pm -  4:30 pm
5:30 pm –  6:30 pm
8:00 pm – 11:00 pm 

Clergy Visitation

Monday - Friday
8:00 am – 11:00 am
1:00 pm –   4:00 pm
8:00 pm – 10:00 pm 

 
All clergy must see the MCSO volunteer coordinator and present a copy of both their ordination papers and driver's license. A photo ID will be issued to allow for future visitation privileges. All visitations will be through glass only. See Chaplain's Services for Clergy Visitation Guidelines
