POWER PREP FOOTBALL CHALLENGE
WILL BEGIN AT 5:00 p.m. AT MEMORIAL STADIUM
 
Charlotte, NC – Eight of the Carolinas’ top high school football teams will go head-to-head at Memorial Stadium this weekend.  The annual Power Prep Football Challenge will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2002.  The start time of 5:00 p.m. is a change from the previously announced starting time of 6:00 p.m. 

The Power Prep Football Challenge will feature each team participating in three 30-minute scrimmages, against three different teams.  Note the change in start time and revised schedule for the first two events. 
 
Because of the large number of fans expected at the following events, each will now begin at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium: 
·         West Charlotte vs. East Mecklenburg  (previously scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at Independence Park)
·         Orangeburg-Wilkinson, SC vs. Richmond Senior (previously scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Pearl Street Park) 
General admission is $8.00 through Ticketmaster or game-day at the Memorial Stadium box office, 310 North Kings Drive.   $3.00 discount coupons are available at participating Wendy’s locations.  Tickets are also available at each participating school for $5.00.  For more information about the Power Prep Football Challenge, call 704-336-5673 or check the Web site www.parkandrec.com.
