9/11 COMMEMORATION, DEPUTY TURNED NOVELIST, AND BIG SWEEP
HIGHLIGHT OCTOBER MECKLENBURG FORUM

Charlotte, NC-"Together We Remember" was the theme for a poignant ceremony marking the one-year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Highlights and more lead Mecklenburg Forum when it debuts Thursday, October 3 at 7 p.m. on The Government Channel.

The monthly newsmagazine also includes an update from the Mecklenburg County Health Department on its efforts to prepare the region for the threat of bio-terrorism.

Shifting to the literary world, Mecklenburg Forum profiles Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Chip Bailey. In addition to a distinguished law enforcement career, Bailey has now written and published a novel.

On the trash front, the annual Big Sweep Saturday once again drew dozens of volunteers pulling tons of trash and more from area streams, creeks and waterways. Mecklenburg Forum cameras were also there as some of the most amazing things emerged.

Mecklenburg Forum airs Thursday nights at 7 p.m. on The Government Channel, Time Warner Cable 16. It can also be seen just prior to regularly scheduled Board of County Commission meetings at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. The show also airs June 9 at 3:30 p.m. on WTVI TV-42, Time Warner Cable 5.
