PARK AND RECREATION
WILL RECOGNIZE EMERGENCY WORKERS ON 9/11 
 

Charlotte, NC – Those who work to save lives in Mecklenburg County or around the world will be honored with a special pass to Park and Recreation facilities on September 11 and through the following weekend.  

 The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is recognizing emergency personnel including firefighters, police, sheriff, other law enforcement officers, Medics, and active military.  All park and facility entrance fees for those emergency personnel will be waived September 11 – 15, 2002. 

This recognition is Park and Recreation's way of showing appreciation and respect for the emergency personnel that valiantly provided their services on September 11, 2001, as well as those that protect our county, state and nation daily. 

Emergency personnel must present a valid ID to obtain entrance to the parks and facilities. Entrance fees will be waived for parks, the Aquatic Center and all recreation centers including exercise facilities.  For additional information, call 704-336-3854
