DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN 2002 GENERAL ELECTION
Charlotte, NC - The deadline to register to vote in the 2002 general election is Friday, October 11 at 5:00pm. The 2002 general election will be held Tuesday, November 5, from 6:30am - 7:30pm.
You may register to vote in Mecklenburg County if you:
· Are a citizen of the United States.
· Are 18 years of age or older by the general election day.
· Are a legal resident of Mecklenburg County and North Carolina for 30 days by the date of the next election.
· Have not been convicted of a felony (or your citizenship rights have been restored).
You can pick up a voter registration form at the following locations:
· Board of Elections office, 741 Kenilworth Avenue, Suite 202, Charlotte, NC
· Public libraries
· Department of Motor Vehicles (while on DMV business)
· Major post offices
· Town halls
On November 5, the Elections Office will staff the Grady Cole Center, 310 North Kings Drive, where all citizens are invited to track returns. For more information on the 2002 election and the Mecklenburg County Elections Office, check
