FY04 Budget Approved, How the County Monitors Ozone, Panthers Kick Off Reading Campaign Highlights July Mecklenburg Forum
Charlotte, NC-After weeks of hearings and months of planning, Mecklenburg County Commissioners approved the County's $1.1 billion FY04 Budget June 17.
The decision drops Mecklenburg County's tax rate more than 10 cents and resulted and reduces many services and programs. When it debuts Thursday July 10 at 7 p.m. on The Government Channel, Mecklenburg Forum details much of what is and is not included in the budget that took effect July 1.
In addition, Mecklenburg Forum will take viewers behind the scenes of the County's air quality lab to explain exactly how ozone is monitored and provide an update on the season so far.
Also this month, Mecklenburg Forum has an exclusive look at how the Carolina Panthers are helping promote literacy. Several players recently offered to help the public library with its efforts.
Mecklenburg Forum airs Thursday nights at 7 p.m. on The Government Channel.
