Charlotte, NC - One of the best ways to stay young and young-at-heart, is to stay active and engage the heart, muscles and mind. That's what Senior Games is about - motivating senior men and women to lead healthy lifestyles.
As a prelude to the local Senior Games 2003, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Cabarrus County and Union County Senior Games organizations are hosting SENIOR DAY on Thursday, March 6, 2003. Senior Day will take place all day at Concord Mills Mall, 8111 Concord Mills Boulevard.
The event will include stage entertainment, an art show, game demonstrations, a health fair and information booths. Free health screenings will include blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and height/weight checks.
All seniors who attend will receive coupon books and Concord Mills merchants will offer special discounts throughout the day. Door prizes will also be awarded. All entertainment and art exhibitions will be that of seniors who have participated in past Senior Games competitions.
Senior Games offers athletic and artistic competitions for adults 55 years of age or better. They will take place April 19 - May 9, 2003. Qualifiers are invited to participate in the fall in the Senior Games State Finals held in Raleigh.
