COUNTY ANNOUNCES CLOSINGS FOR GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 18

Charlotte, N.C.-- Mecklenburg County government offices and agencies will be closed on Friday, April 18, for Good Friday and open on a normal schedule Monday, April 21. This includes all units of the Department of Social Services, the Tax Office, Elections Office, the Register of Deeds Office, and the Land Use and Environmental Services Department.

Mecklenburg County Substance Abuse Center (Detox) is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Department of Social Services Care Line (704-336-CARE or 704-336-2273) operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect of children and elderly or disabled adults.

The Health Department clinics will be closed on Good Friday, April 18 and open on Monday, April 21.

The Main Library and all library branches will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 20. All libraries will be open on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21.

Solid Waste Management's administrative offices will be closed Good Friday, April 18. Solid Waste operations, including recycling centers, yard waste facilities, and the Foxhole Landfill will operate on a normal schedule.

Park and Recreation administrative offices are closed on April 18 and open on April 21. However, County parks and recreation centers will be open regular hours on Good Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21. The Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center and all Nature Centers will be open normal operating hours on April 18 and April 21.
