EMERGENCY CREWS CLOSE IDLEWILD ROAD
FOR FUEL SPILL CLEANUP

Charlotte, NC -Idlewild Road in eastern Mecklenburg County is CLOSED in both directions near the intersection with Rice Road, and is expected to remain closed through morning rush hour on Thursday, September 18.

The road is closed in the 11800 block - between Rice Road and Mint Hill Middle School. The road closure is necessary to clean up a fuel spill that occurred when a tanker truck turned over Wednesday morning.

Idlewild Road will be available to local residents, but all other motorists are asked to take Lebanon Road or Independence Boulevard as alternate routes.

Cleanup is expected to be completed sometime Thursday, at which time Idlewild Road will reopen to traffic.
