NAILING THE JOB INTERVIEW:
IMPROVE SKILLS AT FREE TRAINING SESSION
Charlotte, NC – “Shake hands firmly. Dress conservatively. Be on time.” These are a few of the most obvious suggestions when it comes to job interviews. But with the job market so tight, performing well during the interview is crucial. Mecklenburg County is hosting a FREE seminar for citizens on improving these skills.
The training session will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2003, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Hal Marshall County Services Center, 700 North Tryon Street. To sign up or for more information, call 704-336-4309.
The session is sponsored by the Mecklenburg County Women’s Commission and is open to any resident who feels the need to brush up on interview skills. An employment specialist from “Tailored Management, Inc.” will lead the training, which includes advice on talking with potential employers to the best way to present yourself.
Mecklenburg County residents are also invited to take advantage of the Women’s Commission Job Bank, a job search Web site available at
www.co.mecklenburg.nc.us/cowomcom. For those without Internet access, the Job Bank is available at the Hal Marshall County Services Center.
