MECKLENBURG COUNTY TO HOST SOUTHWEST DISTRICT HORSE SHOW AT LATTA PLANTATION
Charlotte, NC-As spring rolls across the Carolinas, take in the sights, sounds and scents of the outdoors while enjoying the grace and performance of fine-bred horses.
N.C. Cooperative Extension of Mecklenburg County and 4-H Youth Development are hosting the 2004 Southwest District Horse Show May 1 - 2, 2004 at historic Latta Plantation, 5226 Sample Road (off Beatties Ford Road).
· Saturday, May 1: 9 a.m.
· Sunday, May 2: 10 a.m.
About 100 4-H youth ages 8 - 18 will compete in a variety of disciplines including jumping, western, games, and dressage. Winners will go to the state competition in Raleigh in July. There is no admission charge.
The 2004 Southwest District Horse Show presents magnificent animals, gifted youth and outstanding sportsmanship in a historic setting. There will be horses of all breeds - Paso Finos, Arabian and Quarterhorses. 4-H members who either own or care for the horses will present them at the show.
Mecklenburg County 4-H Youth Development mobilizes and unites the resources of NC State University and NC A&T State University with local partners to educate and enable youth to build foundations for life. 4-H is the youth development component of North Carolina Cooperative Extension.
