EASLEY REAPPOINTS MITCHELL TO RETIREMENT BOARD
Charlotte, NC - North Carolina Governor Mike Easley has reappointed Mecklenburg County Commissioner Norman A. Mitchell, Sr. to the Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System Board of Trustees.
This board is responsible for administering retirement system laws for local government members of the Retirement System. Mitchell (District 2) was first appointed to the board in September 2001. His reappointment was effective April 1, 2004 and will expire on March 31, 2008.
The 17 members of the board serve four-year terms. Only three of the 17 are appointed by the governor.
"Thank you for your willingness to continue to serve the State of North Carolina," Easley said in a letter to Mitchell. "I am deeply grateful for people like you who are willing to give their time and talent to move North Carolina forward."
Norman A. Mitchell, Sr. is serving his third term on the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners.
