YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES ANNOUNCES ITS NEW DEPUTY DIRECTOR
CHARLOTTE, NC - Today, Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services Youth & Family Services (YFS) division announces Bobby Cagle as its new deputy director.
Cagle most recently served as the director of social services for Graham County in Robbinsville, North Carolina. The finalist of a nationwide search totaling 130 applicants, Cagle will join YFS on Wednesday, August 18, 2004.
Cagle earned his master’s degree in social work and his bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology from UNC-Chapel Hill. Named N.C. Probation/Parole Officer of the Year in 1997, Cagle has more than 10 years of criminal justice and human services experience.
“We are extremely excited about Bobby joining our division,” said Dannette R. Smith, YFS Director. “Filling this position is the final step in the development of YFS’ Senior Leadership Team.”
As the director of the Graham County Department of Social Services, Cagle developed agency policies and procedures, forecast future needs of the community, controlled fiscal activities of the agency and worked with county commissioners and Social Services Board.
The YFS Deputy Director will manage the day-to-day operations of the divisional units which include Intake/After Hours, Child Protective Investigations, Family Interventions, Foster Care, Licensing and Adoptions. He also will be responsible for working closely with the director on all system reform efforts.
The deputy director position is a new position for YFS. The formation of this position will allow the YFS director to focus on enhancing the vision, mission and strategic plans as the organization moves into the community.
