Crider Resigns as Deputy County Manager
Charlotte, N.C.-Mecklenburg County Manager Harry L. Jones, Sr., announced today that Deputy County Manager Russ Crider has resigned, effective September 10 to pursue other interests. Crider has served as deputy county manager since January 16, 2001, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the County as Jones’ second-in-command. Crider came to Mecklenburg from Dekalb County, GA where he served as chief executive officer.
Jones has no immediate plans to name a successor to Crider. Instead, Jones said he would take this opportunity to assess the continued need for a deputy county manager as well as other restructuring options in the County Manager’s Office. In the interim, Jones will assume many of the duties previously assigned to Crider and make assignments to other staff as needed.
“I would like to thank Russ for his service to the County and the community, and wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Jones.
