The Nature of Love: Marriage in a Mecklenburg County Park!

Charlotte, NC - Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers something special for lovers--all kinds of places to get married and/or hold a wedding reception.

For the ceremony we offer an historic Victorian wedding chapel, an Oriental wedding Pagoda, a variety of gazebos, even beautiful meadows, gardens, and lakefront decks.  These wedding venues are available for rent at sites all over Mecklenburg County.  For the reception, we offer for rent an array of indoor halls and shelters ranging from rustic to picturesque. All are in beautiful natural surroundings.

Last year hundreds of couples found it was the nature of love to get married in "the natural place to be," our park and recreation facilities.

Even years after a wedding, these same halls and shelters are also available for family reunions. And for many other kinds of gatherings, meetings, retreats, business conferences, neighborhood association assemblies, church groups, civic and club events.  These facilities can seat up to 200 people and have restrooms and kitchens.  Renters may select their own caterer or bring their own food. Several shelters have fireplaces.  Some have video equipment.

We hope you'll consider a story about our opportunities for lovers.  It's especially appropriate around Valentines Day! We are also sending you an e-mail copy of our new brochure, "The Nature of Love," which lists opportunities in our parks for weddings and receptions.  We hope you'll let your readers/viewers know this brochure is available online at .  They can just go to the website and punch Wedding and Wedding Brochure.  Or they can call us at 704 336-3854 for more information.  With a little advance notice, we can provide a Park and Recreation staff member for interviews on this topic.

We'd love it if you help us get the word out to lovers.
