PADDLE BOATS NOW AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER FUN AT COLONEL WILLIAM FRANCIS BEATTY PARK
Charlotte, NC - Boating is now available at Colonel William Francis Beatty Park, 4330 Weddington Road, in the southeastern portion of Mecklenburg County.
Ten brightly colored paddle boats will be ready to explore the 16-acre lake on weekends beginning May 7, and weekdays between June 13 - July 22. Hours will be 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. The boats seat up to four people and are available to rent for $2 for 30 minutes.
These boats were previously located at McDowell Nature Preserve and Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, and have been moved to the lakefront area at Colonel Beatty Park. This brings a different amenity to the southern part of the County. Staff will be available to assist and advise boaters of safe boating practices.
Other amenities available at Colonel William Francis Beatty Park include outdoor basketball courts, six tennis courts, soccer fields, horseshoe pits, picnic shelter, walking trails and a playground. Lake Pointe Hall an indoor conference center is available for rentals.
