Charlotte, NC - Mecklenburg County manages nearly 30,000 building inspection requests per month, or about 1,300 per day. That's a lot of inspections. But many projects will benefit from the ability to schedule inspections for a specific day or time. Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement is preparing to offer "Inspection by Appointment," a premium service for an additional fee.
Inspections would be scheduled within two-hour blocks of time: 8 - 10 a.m., 10 a.m. - noon, 1 - 3 p.m., and 3 - 5 p.m. The Inspection by Appointment program is currently in the development stage, with a target launch date of January 1.
Mecklenburg County wants industry input on the program. Construction professionals, developers, re-modelers, do-it-yourselfers, etc. are invited to a public forum and Q-and-A session:
- Thursday, August 17
- 9 a.m.
- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center, Room 267
- 600 East Fourth Street, Charlotte
