Taking the oath of office are At-Large commissioners Jennifer Roberts, Parks Helms and Dan Ramirez. Also taking the oath are Karen Bentley (District 1), Norman A. Mitchell, Sr. (District 2), Valerie C.
Woodard (District 3), Dumont Clarke (District 4), Dan Bishop (District 5), and Bill James (District 6).
County Manager Harry L. Jones, Sr. will provide the introduction for the ceremony. The Honorable Nancy Black Norelli, District Court Judge, will administer the oath of office. The Girl Scouts Color Guard, Hornet's Nest Council, will present the colors.
Immediately following the oath, the new Board of County Commissioners will elect a chairman and vice-chairman. A reception will follow in the lobby of the Government Center.
The swearing-in ceremony will be televised live on The Government Channel, Time Warner Cable 16 beginning at 6 p.m. It will also be streamed live and available for later viewing online at

The new Board will hold its first regular business meeting Tuesday, December 5 at 6 p.m. Commissioners serve two-year terms with the chairman and vice-chairman elected each year.
