THE FIRST TEE OF CHARLOTTE READY TO START KIDS SWINGING; MEDIA DAY SET FOR MARCH 29
Charlotte, NC-The First Tee of Charlotte program tees off with a five day Spring Swing Jr. Golf Clinic at Sunset Hills Golf Course, 800 Radio Road, March 27 - 31, 2006. This free clinic aims to attract and introduce youngsters from all backgrounds to the sport of golf.
During this event, the First Tee volunteers will work with about 300 youngsters, ages 9 - 18, demonstrating the fundamentals of the game and working to develop their drives, chips, putts, and knowledge of the rules of golf. Lunch, golf shirts and hats will be provided for all participants.
Young people may sign up for three half-days of instruction:
• March 27, 28, 29: 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
• March 27, 28, 29: 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• March 29, 30, 31: 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
• March 29, 30, 31: 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Executive Director of The First Tee of Charlotte is Vincent King, former Executive Director of The First Tee programs in Akron and Cleveland, OH. The First Tee of Charlotte is sponsored by a wide variety of golfing interests who want to offer all youngsters the enjoyment, competition, sportsmanship, integrity, and opportunities of golf. The Spring Swing Jr. Golf Clinic is held in partnership with the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department and Ratcliffe Golf Services.
The First Tee of Charlotte, a non-profit foundation, is currently in the midst of a $2.5 million fundraising campaign.
