MECKLENBURG COUNTY ANNOUNCES CLOSINGS FOR MEMORIAL DAY, MAY 29
Charlotte, NC - Mecklenburg County government offices and agencies will be closed on May 29 for Memorial Day. This includes all units of the Department of Social Services, the Tax Office, the Elections Office, the Register of Deeds Office, and the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency.
The Mecklenburg County Substance Abuse Center (Detox) is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Department of Social Services Care Line (336-CARE or 336-2273) operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to report suspected abuse or neglect of children and elderly or disabled adults.
The Health Department clinics will be closed on Monday, May 29.
The Public Library's main branch and all other branches will be closed on Monday, May 29.
Solid Waste administrative offices and all facilities, except Compost Central, will be closed Memorial Day, May 29. Compost Central will operate 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Park and Recreation Administrative offices will be closed May 29. County parks, recreation centers and nature centers will be open on regular schedules. Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center and Marion Diehl Pool will operate "holiday hours" Memorial day: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Ray's Splash Planet will operate "holiday hours" which are 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 27 and 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Memorial Day. Outdoor pools will be open 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday May 27, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 28 and 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 29. Spray grounds will be open regular hours: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Memorial Day.
