Charlotte, NC – A need for licensed home care agencies that can provide personal services for older adults and adults with disabilities is why the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services plans a free information session for potential vendors.
A need for licensed home care agencies that can provide personal services for older adults and adults with disabilities is why the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services plans a free information session for potential vendors.
The Contract Opportunity Outreach Session is set for 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2006. It will be held at the main office of the Department of Social Services, 301 Billingsley Road in Charlotte, in the Mecklenburg A and B rooms. Participants do not have to pre-register for the session.
DSS is planning a competitive process to select licensed home care agencies to provide personal care, home management, and respite services. Clients in need of such services are older adults, age 60 and older; and adults with disabilities, age 18 and older, who are unable to perform these tasks.
While the session itself is not a bid process for In-Home Aide providers, the agenda includes information about:
· The overall project description
· Timelines and proposal process
· How to participate in the project.
The County’s Minority, Women and Small Business Enterprises Program is also a sponsor. For more information, contact Charlotte Spence, contract administrator at DSS, at
