Charlotte, NC – The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is working to bring the U.S. Kayak Water Polo National Championships and Pan American Kayak Water Polo games to Charlotte in 2007. On November 5, the public will have the opportunity to observe this unique new sport.

The 2006 national champions (B Division) will be in action on Lake Wylie. The Carolina Kayak Water Polo Club and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department are hosting Karl Wall from Washington D.C. Wall is a member of the Irish national team, past Irish national coach, and is currently the U.S. Women's coach. He will be putting on a kayak water polo clinic for club members and the public is invited to observe.
