Charlotte, NC – October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Domestic Violence Advocacy Council, led by the Mecklenburg County Women's Commission and local advocates have organized a number of events including free trainings, a candlelight vigil, a men's parade and a golf tournament. The month kicks off with a re-broadcast of the Telly Award-winning "The Mecklenburgers" on Sunday, October 1 at 6 p.m. on WAXN-TV. The program is called "Who's the Boss," demonstrating how domestic violence can affect a person and those around him or her. The full schedule is available
