Charlotte-Mecklenburg can celebrate Earth Day April 21 at Ray's Splash Planet.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg's largest Earth Day celebration is a free and fun family event.

- Saturday, April 21
- 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Ray's Splash Planet
- 215 North Sycamore Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

Participating in Earth Day Taking part will be Mecklenburg County, the City of Charlotte, other government agencies, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and businesses who are actively promoting environmental protection and energy conservation. More than 30 exhibitors will be in attendance and all booths are interactive.

It's a celebration honoring Earth-friendly practices by individuals and organizations in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. This Earth Day celebration will provide a broad range of educational opportunities, hands-on activities, and demonstrations resulting in a greater number of Charlotte area residents taking personal action to protect our natural environment.

Activities include:
Gas Cap Check and Replacement, Gardening, Composting, Landscaping Information, Clean Burning Fuel & Hybrid Vehicles, Free Bike Tune-ups by REI, Bike Commuting Clinic, Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethic Clinic, Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids Presentation, Door Prizes Provided by REI, Gifts for Attendees ex: carabineers, Frisbees, tire levers, lip balm, water bottles, coupons, etc…, Scrap Exchange Community Arts Program, Clean Cars Exhibit; live DJ music all day and the Charlotte Folk Society and scavenger hunt for kids.
