The tenth annual Great Backyard Bird Count will sweep Mecklenburg County February 16 - 19. Novice and expert bird watchers are invited to count birds in their backyards, parks, nature preserves, schoolyards, etc. and report their numbers via the Internet. These volunteers help researchers better understand bird populations and distribution across the continent.
