The month kicks off with the unveiling of a new Web site designed to help pastors and ministry leaders get online domestic violence training and local contacts of programs and services in their area. Charlotte has been one of four cities worldwide working with the University of New Brunswick in Canada on the development of the online training tool, called
RAVE (Religion And Violence E-learning).
Other faith based partnerships include a domestic violence panel discussion with interfaith community leaders and Mecklenburg Ministries on October 11, as well as a candlelight vigil honoring domestic violence related homicide victims across the state at Temple Beth El on October 21.
