Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation invites all young people to the Martin Luther King Basketball Challenge when they're out of school January 21.

YOUTH INVITED TO SHOW THEIR SKILLS FOR POINTS AT BASKETBALL SHOOTING CHALLENGE ON MLK HOLIDAY 

Charlotte, NC – Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation invites sharp young basketball players to join the excitement of the MLK Basketball Challenge, January 21, 2008 at 10 am at Naomi Drenan Recreation Center, 750 Beal Street. 

This tournament is for youngsters out of school on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Holiday. It will test the skills of youth and teens in a three-point contest, free throw contest, and half court shot contest in the following age groups and times:

·         Ages 7-8 (10-11am)
·         Ages 9-10 (11am-12pm)
         Ages 11-12 (12pm-1pm)
·         Ages 13-14( 1pm-2pm)
·         Ages 15-16 (2pm-3pm)
·         Ages 17-18 (4pm-5pm)
