ASIAN FESTIVAL AND DRAGON BOAT RACES
AT RAMSEY CREEK PARK
 

Cornelius, NC - Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation and the Asian Chamber present the Ninth Annual Asian Festival and Third Annual Dragon Boat Race at Ramsey Creek Park on June 7, 2008. There will be Asian performances on stage all day, along with Asian vendors selling food and other items. Last year's event attracted about 6,000 people to the park.

Schedule of Events:

9 a.m.. – 3:30 p.m. -  Dragon Boat Races

11 a.m.  - Asian Festival Opening Ceremony
 
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. -  Entertainment on the stage
 
1 p.m. -  Ms. Asian Festival Pageant
 
1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.  - Intermissions by Fall Back Band, Dragon Boat Race, Consolation Finals, -Bonsai Trimming Demonstration – by Bonsai Society of the Carolinas, -T'ai Chi Demonstration – by Simmons YMCA T'ai Chi
 
2 p.m. - Ms. Asian Talent Show Performances
 
2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. - Entertainment
 
3:30 p.m. -  Dragon Boat Race- Premier Final & Grand Final
 
4 p.m. - Announcement of Ms. Asian Festival Pageant Winners
 
4:30 p.m. - Dragon Boat Race Medals Ceremony, Closing Remarks

Parking will be at the Palace Cinema parking lot at Kenton Place off West Catawba Ave. A free shuttle will run from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
