Mecklenburg County Commissioner Appointed To Association Board
Charlotte, NC - Jennifer Roberts, chairman of the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, has been appointed to a one-year term for 2008-09 to the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners' Board of Directors by NCACC President-elect Mary Accor of Cleveland County.
Roberts will serve as an at-large director. She was recently elected to her third two-year term on the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners.
The Association's Board is comprised of four officers, 18 district directors, county commissioners who are members of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Counties, and several presidential appointees who either co-chair Association steering committees or serve as at-large members. The Board of Directors meets several times throughout the year to develop statewide policy goals in such areas as taxation, agriculture, environment, criminal justice, human resources and public education.
