CALLING ALL BIG SHOTS: HEALTH DEPARTMENT PROVIDES FREE SCHOOL IMMUNIZATIONS
Charlotte, NC School is back in session and, once again, the Mecklenburg County Health Department and the Junior League of Charlotte are working together to make sure children are properly immunized for the new school year.
Big Shot Saturdays enters its 14th year of providing parents a convenient alternative for getting kids their necessary childhood immunizations. The Saturday clinics are scheduled so that moms and dads wont have to miss work, make an appointment or wait in a crowded waiting room. In addition, school-age children get their shots free of charge.
Remember, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools require students to have up-to-date shot records in order to be enrolled in class. All that parents need to bring is a from of identification and their childrens current shot records to ensure clinic nurses know exactly which immunizations are needed.
There are four Big Shot Saturday opportunities over the coming weeks. Hours for each clinic are 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Saturday, August 23, at the Mecklenburg County Health Dept., 249 Billingsley Road
- Saturday, September 6, at the Mecklenburg County Health Department, 2845 Beatties Ford Road
- Saturday, September 13, at the Mecklenburg County Health Department, 2845 Beatties Ford Road
- Saturday, September 20, at Kids HealthLink at Merry Oaks Elementary School, 3508 Draper Avenue
