The walkway is in Frazier Park, 1201 W. Fourth St. Free parking for the service is available on both sides of Fourth Street and in the Frazier Park parking lot.
Larry Dawalt, director of Spiritual & Grief Care for the Charlotte chapter of Hospice, will be the primary speaker. The topic of his speech is "It is Well."
There will be a time in the service where individuals can come forward and make some brief remarks about their loved ones who have passed. In the event of rain, the service will be moved to Ray's Splash Planet, 215 N. Sycamore St.
Our Children’s Memorial Walkway presents four general services a year: one in spring, one in fall, one on 9-11 and one on Veterans Day. The Walkway was created in 2001 through a partnership between the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department and several grief groups. OCMW has more than 1400 engraved bricks memorializing children of all ages. Anyone may purchase an engraved brick to memorialize loved ones who have died.
To purchase a brick, visit www.ocmw.org or call 704-509-6603. The engraved bricks cost $50 for a single brick and $100 for a double brick.
